DEPARTMENT OF EPIDEMIOLOGY

Function

The Department is responsible for surveillance, guiding, researching and implementing prevention and control activities for malaria, dengue fever and other diseases; taking the examination of the malaria diagnostic quality sent from local microscopic points.

Specific duties

- Conduct scientific researches on the epidemiology of malaria, dengue fever, neglected tropical diseases and others.

- Carry out surveillance, guidance and implementation of prevention and control activities for malaria, dengue fever and other relevant diseases.

- Record and analyze data of cases, reservoirs and outbreaks of malaria, dengue fever and other diseases.

- Implement the external quality assurance programs for WHO/WPRO and southern area of Vietnam in the testing of malaria diagnostic examinations in the Pacific region.

- Conduct training courses on the techniques and skills of epidemiology and microscopic examination for local medical staffs and related units in the area.
