Function
The department is responsible for implementation of the activities on scientific studies, managing and monitoring of vectors and vector control, provision of specialized training and related issues.
Specific duties
- Develop programs/plans and implement scientific research on species composition, distribution, the role of disease transmission and other issues relating to the medical arthropods.
- Conduct scientific research on environmental and social factors relating to the reproduction and development of mosquitoes transmitting malaria, dengue fever, zika, and other medical arthropods.
- Monitor and evaluate efficacy and effectiveness of vector control activities implemented in the localities.
- Provide training courses on the techniques and skills of entomology and vector-borne disease prevention methods for local medical staffs and universities (masters, PhD. degree).
