PARASITOLOGY CLINIC
Functions:
To be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of parasitic diseases; to participate in scientific research of the institute; to supervise the quality of diagnosis and treatment of malaria, intestinal parasites and other tropical diseases as well as vector-borne diseases.
Tasks:
- Provide free advisory services, diagnosis and treatment of malaria, intestinal parasitic diseases, tropical diseases and other vector-borne diseases.
- Participate in scientific researches in the clinical of malaria, intestinal parasitic diseases, tropical diseases and the other vector-borne diseases.
- Conduct clinical trials on drug resistance, new anti-malarial, new treatment regimen for malaria.
- Monitor and manage the health of staff of the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Coordinate with the Department of Parasitology to conduct training courses on the techniques and skills for diagnosis and treatment of malaria, intestinal parasitic diseases, tropical diseases and the other vector-borne diseases for local medical staffs in the provinces.
- Applying high - techniques for scientific research, diagnosis and service of social needs
- Application of molecular biology in the detection pathogens and medical arthropods in Southern Vietnam
- Common types of insecticides
- Training course on quality assurance in malaria diagnosis
- Training on malaria control communication
- United State Embassy’s representative work with the Institute of Malaria - Parasitology - Entomology in HCM City
- Several other medical arthropods in southern of Vietnam (Ticks, chigger mites, and gamasid mites)
